Position description

This individual will support the international enrollment management goals of UNC Charlotte colleges to identify high-quality and diverse international graduate students. The position will provide assistance to faculty, researchers and administrators to formulate strategic and intentional activities aimed at recruiting Ph.D and Masters level international students. The primary role of this position, in collaboration with the academic colleges and the Graduate School, will be to assist in the development and execution a multi-year international enrollment management plan proposal in addition to a host of support services that will assist in the development of partnerships, connections and pipelines between UNC Charlotte colleges/faculty and entities from abroad (institutions, organizations and sponsors). This individual will also understand recruitment trends, market characteristics/intelligence and emerging regions best positioned to send degree seeking graduate students to the U.S 


Required Qualifications Master's degree in intercultural communication, international relations, global studies, international education, higher education administration or closely related field -Bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience in international higher education administration (preferably in international student recruitment (degree-seeking or IEP), international admissions or international student and scholar services); -Exceptional interpersonal, intercultural, organizational and communication skills: both written and verbal; -Provide excellent and timely customer service to prospective international students as well as stakeholders; -High level of motivation, initiative and goal oriented; -Knowledge of trends in international student recruitment and emerging student markets; -Well developed understanding and awareness of best practices in international student recruitment; -Strong ability to develop and sustain relationships across various campus constituencies engaged in international student enrollment management; -Extremely organized and detail-oriented with an ability to succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; -Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally; -Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion; -Strong computing skills and expertise utilizing computing applications with various university systems; -Commitment to a student-centered/customer service-oriented philosophy;
