The American Enterprise Institute seeks a full-time research assistant to work on issues related to the Middle East, specifically the politics and economies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Arabian Peninsula.
Primary responsibilities include analyzing and tracking the economic policies of the GCC, conducting research on the effects of Gulf foreign and economic policies on US interests, and supporting research efforts to map financial aid and intervention emanating from the Gulf to other developing economies. Other responsibilities include organizing and coordinating public and private events, overseeing short- and long-term research projects and grants, and providing administrative support.
This position requires outstanding quantitative and qualitative research skills. High proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. Qualified candidates should have an interest in international relations, specifically the politics and economies of the Middle East. Excellent written communication skills and high attention to detail are a must. Arabic language skills are desirable.
