With an expanding Latin America and Caribbean portfolio of humanitarian assistance and disaster preparedness, risk mitigation and recovery (DRM) programs, we are currently seeking a Program Coordinator to become a critical member of our dynamic International Development team located in Washington, DC.

Some of the central responsibilities of this position are:

Program Support and Coordination:

· Working under the supervision of the Regional Program Manager for the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region, support and coordinate Miyamoto’s National Program Managers and country-based teams across various countries in the region, including Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Trinidad and Tobago, to deliver high-impact DRM programs

· Support the development and implementation of program work plans and strategies, ensuring donor compliance and operational excellence when handling administrative, programmatic and operational tasks

· Identify systematic and/or administrative gaps and needs, and help develop operational or compliance systems to support multi-country program implementation

Program Development and Communication:

· Support the LAC team’s business development efforts through research, writing concept notes and proposals, and organizing educational workshops and events in Washington, DC and the region

· Work with the Communications team to help develop effective PR, communication materials, such as success stories, and social media campaigns


Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s accepted, but preferably an advanced degree in International Relations/Development, Law, Disaster Management or related field

· At least 5 years’ work experience within the international development and humanitarian assistance sector

· Prior experience working on USAID awards with knowledge of USAID rules and regulations a must

· Monitoring and evaluation skills highly advantageous

· Excellent communicator with strong writing skills; professional fluency in English and Spanish is a must, French a plus

· Creative, resourceful self-starter and multi-tasker with excellent organization and planning skills, as well as the ability to be flexible, problem solve independently and work well with remote, global teams
