Launched at the World Economic Forum in January 2020, Catalyst 2030 is a global community of social entrepreneurs, funders and other social change innovators who believe collaborative action and bold, new strategies are needed to address the crises of our time.
Joining forces with communities, governments, businesses, funders and others, Catalyst 2030 members are working toward changing systems at all levels. About the Systems Learning Team
Catalyst 2030 offers the Systems Learning Coordinator the opportunity to work with young people from various countries, and to challenge themselves within the context of a vibrant and growing organisation. The ideal candidate has graduated with a background in business, international development, social sciences, nonprofit management or a related field with ideally two to four years experience. The Systems Change Learning team stimulates an ongoing evolution of a learning ecosystem created by, and for, social innovators. Our primary goal is to provide rich opportunities for shared learning and to nurture communities of practice to shift the dominant culture and paradigms, and enable structural and systemic change. Our team works closely with social entrepreneurs and innovators as well as with government, civil society and academics.
With the complexity of systems change, the team brings together academics and social entrepreneurs/innovators to promote a sustainable culture of systems change, while advancing research, informing curricular offerings and influencing practice, education, and policies. Role and Responsibilities
The role supports the growing needs of the Catalyst 2030 community. Besides coordinating the co-creation of learning opportunities for and by our members, the role strengthens the internal operations of the Systems Learning Team and its collaboration with other departments in the Secretariat.
Lead the end-to-end co-design and delivery of learning offerings for our members, including the Learning Series, Masterclass, among others.
Support the implementation of the Catalyst Academy, including developing the certification programme, assisting with the development of content modules, identifying speakers and recruiting participants for the academy.
Partnerships and Communities
Identify and cultivate partnerships for the creation of learning opportunities for members with educators, experts and social innovators.
Forge partnerships and nurture communities of academic and knowledge resource creators focused on systems change and the social innovation economy, to enhance research, curate and expand knowledge and resources and build educational pedagogy and practice.
Support members working on academic publications, practitioner reports, stories of social entrepreneurs to translate theory into action and amplify the systems change movement.
Build relationships and connect members with other members within the network.
Supervise and train three interns who rotate every six months to implement our Systems Learning Series, Academic Hubs and Catalyst Academy.
Coordinate the team’s monthly reporting and deliverable implementation tracking and provide inputs and updates to the departmental strategic plan and other documents.
Independently manage projects, ensuring tasks meet deadlines and supporting the work of members and/or team members.
Support monthly group meetings at different stages, from calendar planning and agenda setting, to taking minutes and sending follow-up emails.
Contribute to the planning, organising and coordinating of strategic engagement for members at conferences and events.
Update and maintain our section of the website, social change innovators online portal and customised member portal, to engage and inform members of events or research and cross-departmental collaborations.
Assist with research, writing and editing of internal reports, publications and documents about various topics related to our work.
Willingness to help out and be flexible when needed to accomplish objectives.
As a member of the Systems Learning Team, the ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, innovative thinker with a bias to action who can independently oversee project implementation. Understanding of systems thinking and interest in research are essential. You are confident, proactive with at least two to four years years of professional experience. You operate with a service mindset – no task is too small for you.
The team member embodies the value of Catalyst 2030 to their core, the diverse voices and communities representing Catalyst 2030. This role requires the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders in the Catalyst 2030 network including working groups, academics and researchers and social entrepreneurs to work towards common goals. This role will report to the Systems Learning Facilitator.
Master’s degree, preferably in business, international development, social sciences, non-profit management or a related field.
In its absence, relevant professional experiences for two to four years is required.
Some managerial experience is preferable, though not essential.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes
Knowledgeable and passionate about social innovation, research, learning resources, and academic research.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Competence in another UN language will be a bonus.
A willingness to push up your sleeves and get the work done.
Ability to collaborate with a broad and diverse set of partners from government to civil society, from international organisations to educators at the higher education and tertiary levels.
Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment and across time zones.
Flexible, with an open mind, easily adaptable to new tasks given at short notice.
Desire to work collaboratively in a team, with a positive attitude and ability to rise to challenges.
Technically savvy and able to learn to coordinate between several technology tools and platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce and our member portal.

Hands-on attitude and willingness to help out and show flexibility with other tasks as assigned.
