Position description

The Program Coordinator is an entry level position for work at the American Task Force on Lebanon and provides administrative and programmatic support to current and developing projects, as well as helping ensure efficient office management. This position is based in Washington, DC.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and greet visitors;
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendars;
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries;
  • Handle and route external requests for information and data;
  • Prepare and edit documents including reports, memos, correspondence, and presentations;
  • Arrange staff and member travel and related logistics;
  • Maintain our electronic filing systems and database, and archives;
  • Handle internal meeting logistics and provide meeting support as needed;
  • Support external meetings and events as needed;
  • Support communications activities, including email announcements, newsletters, website updates, and social media posts;
  • Coordinate maintenance of office equipment and supplies, including liaising with vendors;
  • Assist with other external duties, as needed.


  • You have 1-3 years of relevant experience. An undergraduate degree in political science, international relations, or Middle East Studies is preferred.
  • You have strong research and writing skills across formats and styles.
  • You can plan, organize, and prioritize across tasks.
  • You can assess and problem solve.
  • You’re confident in regularly interacting with and sharing your ideas among senior management.
  • You have demonstrated interest in one or more areas of US foreign policy, especially regarding the Middle East and Lebanon.
  • You have the ability to collaborate with several teams at once, and you have no problem managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Computers do what you say. You are confident with Google Suite, Office Suite, managing website content, email marketing, and social media networks.
