Belgium Salary: 38,817 €UR 

Democratic Republic of the Congo Salary: 72,022,241 FC 

Ghana Salary: 29,774 USD 

Peru Salary:  117,928 PEN 

Senegal Salary: 21,702,587.28 XOF 

Tunisia Salary: 23,741 USD 

United Kingdom Salary: 44,171 GBP 

United States Salary: 68,268 USD

About the Role: 

NRGI is recruiting a Fundraising Officer, to support our fundraising plan delivery and contribute to securing the resources needed to deliver NRGI's strategic objectives (organizational budget of c.$14m in 2024). 

The ideal candidate will be committed to NRGI’s mission and vision. Prior experience working within a team producing complex bids to institutional and foundation funders for international development organizations is necessary. Reporting to the Fundraising Director, s/he will have a strong hands-on orientation. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to play a key role in a busy team, help build the funding pipeline and strengthen donor relationships to ensure NRGI’s long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Coordinate proposal development processes, undertake prospect research and support donor relationship management. 
  • Support effective grant management to maximize donor relationships and funding for NRGI.    
  • Contribute to the Fundraising Team plans and priorities, ensuring alignment with NRGI’s strategy. 

 

This role might be for you if have… 

  • At least four years of directly relevant work experience, securing significant funds from government and foundation sources for international development, climate and/or governance causes. 
  • Experience coordinating proposal processes and grant management including contracting, reporting and donor relationship management. 
  • Experience of developing proposal budgets and familiarity with full cost recovery principles. 
  • Direct experience with bilateral/multilateral/foundation donors (ideally those already funding NRGI). 
  • Experience of researching donors and prospects. 
  • Experience working in a global organization and collaborating with staff across different cultures and time zones. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and rigorous attention to detail. 
  • Ability to write clear and concise proposals, reports and communications, presenting information in appropriate ways for different audiences. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.   
  • A self-starter who will show initiative and resourcefulness. 
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation approaches and donor requirements. 
  • Excellent research skills. 
  • Fluency in French and/or Spanish desirable. 
  • Competency in MS Office and experience maintaining donor records. 

 

Education and Qualifications 

  • University degree preferably in a relevant field (political science, development, economics, law, or international affairs, etc.) but transferable skills and equivalent experience will also be considered.
