Position description

The EEF is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering open and informed dialogue on energy policy among MEPs, industry stakeholders, and public institutions.It endorses the values of political and technological neutrality. It does not take any position nor issue public statements.

The Role

The Policy and Events Assistant is a full-time position. They will be working in a small team reporting directly to the Director General. Their tasks consist of (not exclusively):

  • Monitoring the EU legislative process in energy, climate and transport-related fields, Summarizing key legislation
  • Planning, organizing and implementing timely events and discussions relating to key dossiers
  • Overseeing and managing the organization of EEF events and co-ordinating logistical details (invitations, registrations, participants list, sharing presentations, ensure the smooth running of the event, follow-ups)
  • Being responsible for files relating to the gas sector (natural gas, low-carbon and renewable gasses, etc.), CCUS, carbon removals, bioenergy, energy-intensive industries,
  • Drafting invitations, writing neutral summaries of discussions, building content for social media
  • Being responsible for the overall communications activities such as writing content for activity reports, preparing printed material, or online publications; managing  the website content,
  • Contributing to internal teamwork and day-to-day life in a small office and engaging with members

The Requirements

  • A university degree in international relations,… (EU studies, political science is preferred)
  • 1 year of experience
  • Familiarity with EU policy and energy related topics
  • Excellent English with strong communications skills,
  • Good analytical, organizational and drafting skills to manage various projects with a can-do attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Eligible to work and live in Brussels
