Context & mission
Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).
The DHIS 2 is a tool for collection, validation, analysis, and presentation of aggregate and patient-based statistical data, tailored (but not limited) to integrated health information management activities. In 2017, the MSF Operational Centre of Geneva (MSF-OCG) took a step-up in the management of health information by launching a DHIS2 project implementation with the contribution of an external partner. This data management platform provides the organization with new capacities in terms of data collection methods, entry, access, and analytics / visual outputs. The project is now completed, and the running phase is ongoing.
In 2021, OCG defined the Medico-operational ambitions toward the DHIS2. The objectives of this exercise were to:

OCG has a big number of end users with continuous need of support and this continuous need is also amplified by the high turnover of MSF staff. In addition, there is a huge volume of data elements, indicators, program indicators and dashboards to maintain. The ‘HIS Support Officer’ will support the HIS team on all tasks related to the improvement of OCG end users experience with the goal to maximize their benefits on the use of the DHIS2.
