Job Description:

McDaniel College's Department of Political Science and International Studies invites applications for a one year Visiting Professor (Assistant, Associate, or Full) position with emphasis in International Relations, especially related to Asia and Security Studies, beginning August 2025. Ph.D. preferred by time of appointment. The department seeks applicants with experience in teaching the international relations of Asia, emerging security threats (such as Cyber Warfare and AI), international law, and research methods. 

Faculty teaching load is three courses per semester. The position holder will also oversee the college's Model United Nations Team and mentor students in the college's National Security Fellows program.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in relevant field preferred, advanced ABD considered.
  • A graduate degree in political science, international relations, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses
  • The ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
