The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, India and the United States, is seeking an Development (Fundraising) Assistant to join its development team in Washington, DC and assist with all aspects of its fundraising program.
The Development Assistant will report to the Director of Development Operations and provide support to the overall department, including monitoring payment requests and processing, donor and payment data tracking, preparing acknowledgments, donor event support, preparation of briefing materials and the President’s donor trips, managing and updating materials for Development meetings and visits, coordinating team meetings, and arranging travel and preparing expense reports for the CDO, other senior development staff and any VIPs related to Development activities.
The position requires up to one year of experience, preferably with fundraising and/or development. A Bachelor’s degree with strong interest in international affairs is preferred. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, detail oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be deadline-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and flexible towards changing priorities. Experience working with Word, Excel, and database software systems is required.
