Our Community Risk Assessment team seeks to identify, mitigate, and prevent risks to our community and platform. We conduct proactive and post-mortem investigations, which stress test and probe our internal systems in order to understand the root cause of each issue, and deliver action-oriented assessments with the end state of keeping our community safe. Through this work, we hope to build trust in communities and empower Facebook to fulfill its mission by inspiring a culture of accountability and driving holistic solutions.

We are seeking a seasoned Manager to lead a regional team — we're targeting a resilient self-starter who thrives in driving structure in ambiguous spaces, working in fast-paced environments and leveraging strong strategic and critical thinking skills to define solutions to new problem sets. A successful candidate should be an experienced leader who loves investigating problems, identifying root causes, and rallying people to drive change across a global organization. You are a data-driven, solutions-oriented, consummate professional who proactively identifies risks and opportunities to improve and drive efficiencies in the team. We're looking for an intellectually curious and creative individual — a strategic thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. You have a passion for developing others and bring out the best in your teams. You are an influencer with effective and polished communications skills who will work directly with our cross-functional partners (policy, product, etc.), as well as all of the teams within Global Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide mentorship, guidance and career development to a high performing team — work with direct reports on strategies for executing on goals, measuring progress and sharing results

  • Spearhead our investigative methodology, creating a unified message and an understanding of events and root causes

  • Develop and maintain close relationships with global cross-functional teams including PR/Communications, Public Policy, Product and Legal and others to problem solve and develop solutions

  • Use your influencing skills to drive improvements with cross-functional stakeholders to policies, processes, systems, and products that mitigate risk to community

  • Partner with leaders across the company to ensure that efforts receive appropriate prioritization and cross-functional resources

  • Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations and influence team strategy through effective communication

Qualifications

  • BS/BA Degree or higher

  • 3+ years of people management, and organizational leadership experience

  • 8+ years of experience in an operations, risk management, policy, legal operations or management consulting

  • Experience setting goals for a team and executing on vision

  • Experience in assessing, analyzing and resolving issues, and distilling findings to a variety of audiences

  • Experience working with minimal supervision to multitask and manage workload to completion

  • Program management, communication, stakeholder management, negotiating, and influencing experience with a track record of achieving engagement from internal and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Experience working as part of a global, cross-functional team and working with all levels through collaboration and relationship building

  • Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving experience

  • Experience prioritizing tasks and delivering results

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in international relations, philosophy, business, policy, journalism, legal, etc.

  • Experience working in risk strategy at a Big 4 firm, the government sector, or banking

  • Experience with a fast-paced, always-on, frequently ambiguous environment
