Position description

Control Risks is looking to hire a Threat Analytics Team Lead to support a top tech company based in San Francisco, CA. This individual will help lead the clients Threat 
Analytics team.

Tasks and responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lead Threat Analytics team

Provide detailed training and upskilling to existing team members while searching for new and creative resource adjustments where required

Manage senior-level client interaction

Redesign existing SOPs for threat analysis and daily reporting to publish a digest as well as threat advisories, informational reports, or security awareness bulletins as directed; provide reports or briefings on strategic or specific security issues for senior management

Work with team to identify, monitor, research, analyse and provide warnings regarding emerging threats and trends worldwide that may impact the client’s security planning and potentially impact the stability of its operations; provide rapid assessments of “breaking” security situations as needed

Establish internal liaisons both at client headquarters and operational locations who can help foster timely and efficient exchange of risk-related information

Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with intelligence and law enforcement agencies and industry -related counterparts involved in the collection, evaluation, and distribution of security information

Support and collaborate with the client’s operational sites around the globe and new project planning processes by providing risk liaison, monitoring and briefings


Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, intelligence analysis, criminal justice, regional studies, or a related discipline

Minimum of 10-15 years of private sector work experience (in lieu of private sector experience, minimum requirement former USG, preferably intelligence community experience)

Demonstrated knowledge of security analysis and risk assessments for physical security or security operations and planning

Analytical expertise and time/stress management skills to accurately draw conclusions by synthesizing raw data and information from multiple unrelated sources into a finished comprehensive product; this requires a strong ability to identify and solve complex problems and carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision, at times under adverse and stressful conditions

Able to deal effectively with others to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts and employ multi- disciplinary analysis with and without systems support

Training and experience in Microsoft Office products, which are used to prepare clear and concisereports

Previous work experience in a security or analyst role; background or experience working with global organizations

Keen understanding of social media monitoring techniques

Experience or training in developing and recommending policy, organizing, and carrying out specific programs, as well as evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations

Ability to develop recommendations regarding policies and initiatives appropriate to meeting client’s needs

Ability to evaluate and recommend changes in methods of intelligence gatheringļ½ Ability to present and defend intelligence positions to a variety of audiences,including staff, representatives, and members of the board

Ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization and across diverse cultural and language barriers
