Position description

Global Citizen seeks an exceptionally strategic, organized, creative, and energetic leader with a proven track record of partnership team management, relationship and project management, to join the team as a Senior Director, Global Corporate Partnerships. This role will lead 1-2 partnerships and the team overseeing Global Citizen’s corporate partnerships. In a fast-paced environment, you will develop solutions for the team, the organization, and individual partners. The person in this role has the opportunity to amplify the private sector’s impact to achieve the United Nation’s Global Goals. You will work across most teams in the organization including policy, marketing, editorial, PR, talent, and production. You will execute your own partnerships while overseeing the team across a number of deliverables - from festivals and broadcast events, to custom content, digital, marketing, rewards, and technology integration. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an environment delivering complex projects and partnerships with large corporate brands, with experience in marketing and media.

You will build a comprehensive and clear delivery plan to ensure consistent first-class partnership delivery across the team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated account management success and high-level organizational skills to manage complex projects. This position is an integral member of the Global Corporate Partnerships team and wider Business Development department led by the Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Partnerships, and the Chief Operating Officer. On a project-by-project basis, the Senior Director will manage the responsible team, including junior staff members.

While the exact responsibilities may vary from time to time, the main duties can be summarized as follows:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Oversight and Impact

  • Working together with the Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Partnerships, and the wider team, co-develop the organization's partnership strategy for Global Citizen
  • Develop and build processes and tools to support the delivery of exceptional projects and partnerships
  • Continue to develop and improve impact measurement and reporting
  • Recognize and create unique integrated marketing opportunities to find authentic ways for partner’s ESG work to be seen by a global audience
  • Deputize for the Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Partnerships at events and meetings where required
  • As the leader of the "Partner Team" internally, the Senior Director will manage a team of approximately 10 people. This role may also manage interns and event-related staff.

2. Partner and Campaign Management

  • Directly lead 1-2 partnerships while overseeing the teams managing other partnerships. High touch relationship management with partners, including with C-suite executives, across complex workstreams including: Policy, Marketing, Content, Rewards, Legal, Talent and externally with CSR, Policy, Media, and Marketing teams
  • Oversight of Private Sector Coalition, Global Citizen’s most involved and highly valued CEOs and CMOs. This role will work on timelines, communications, and strategy to activate private sector leaders with the Office of the CEO across all involved partners
  • Build project delivery for multi-year partnership featuring integrating partners into Global Citizen mission and events, from global media events to content series, thought leadership to advocating for policy commitments
  • Be an internal advocate for partner needs, keeping colleagues accountable for their responsibilities and timelines
  • Anticipate partner needs across the team and resources associated with exceptional delivery
  • Synthesize and clearly communicate Global Citizen key projects via presentations, one-sheets, and other
  • Evaluate and report on value to partners and to mission, accounting for both social and business impact
  • Support Business Development in renewal of existing partners, and drafting valuable offerings for potential new partners based on experience
  • Manage oversight of financials for partnership delivery across the team
  • Provide regular reports to partners and impact reports at the end of each project
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Partnerships
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

The Director of Global Corporate Partnership position requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years of professional experience including leading corporate partnership teams.

Other Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to network, collaborate, persuade, and speak publicly in a compelling way
  • Strong writing skills
  • Extremely well organized with an understanding of project management tools
  • Experience in managing campaigns, including organic and paid social promotion
  • Ability to spot problems and solve them
  • Exhibit flexibility and the ability to manage change across the team
  • Professional manner and experience dealing with senior-level client interactions
  • A sense of humor, team player and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to show initiative and work with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of CMS, CRM, Google suite, and Keynote
  • Maintain a commitment to eradicating extreme poverty by 2030
