Position description

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking to hire an experienced and professional Manager, Executive Communications. The manager of executive communications supports HFHI’s mission through writing/editing speeches, video scripts, columns, articles, op-eds, blogs, board reports, devotions/invocations, letters, social media, and remarks for panel discussions, podcasts, interviews and Q&A on behalf of the ministry’s CEO. The manager works closely with Habitat’s thought leadership director, media and public relations director, and the organizational communications team to coordinate the CEO’s participation in various events. The manager also supports Habitat’s God at the Center activities by coordinating Advent/Lenten devotions, collaborating on worship services, writing a devotion for the board of directors to reflect upon during meetings and leading workshops at state events. 

Key Responsibilities: 
* Draft speeches and video scripts for the CEO.
* Prepare/review columns, articles, op-eds, blogs, and social media on behalf of the CEO.
* Draft communications to board, affiliates and others and review messages to the staff on behalf of the CEO.
* Proactively identify strategic and thought leadership opportunities to engage others in the work of Habitat on behalf of the CEO.
* Collaborate with Habitat colleagues as a thought partner to elevate CEO profile within Habitat and with external audiences.  
* Prepare general and targeted correspondence on behalf of the CEO.
* Prepare/coordinate materials to support Habitat’s Christian mission, including devotions, prayers, and invocations.
* Represent the Global Communications division on the God at the Center team at Habitat for Humanity International.

Required:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
* 8+ years in executive communications.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines is essential.
* Ability to convey Habitat’s message, from the point of view of the CEO, in a strategic, consistent and compelling way.
* Proven experience research, interviewing, writing, editing and overseeing publication processes.  
* Ability to proactively identify and pursue opportunities to position Habitat as a thought leader. 
* Fund-raising and/or grant-writing experience is a plus.
* Ability to support and create materials that convey Habitat’s Christian focus is essential.
