Global Health Council Global Health Council (GHC) is the leading member organization devoted to advancing global health priorities by uniting advocates, implementers, policymakers, and other stakeholders. Using the power of our community’s collective voice, we work across disease areas to drive sustainable funding and equitable policies that improve global health and well-being for all.

Our membership numbers more than 130 members—including associations and coalitions, corporations, foundations, NGOs, academic institutions, and think tanks — that, collectively, work across 150 countries and focus on a broad range of global health issues.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented person to serve as our full-time (40 hours per week) Coordinator, Advocacy and Communications. The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in the fast-paced environment of a small and incredibly productive, highly-respected non-profit organization. The person in this role will support the organization's efforts to influence global health policies, raise awareness, and drive engagement on key issues. The role involves supporting the execution of advocacy strategies, particularly with the U.S. Congress and Administration, creating compelling communications content, and coordinating with stakeholders, including policymakers and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Advocacy Support:

  • Assist in the implementation of global health advocacy strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze global health policy developments, providing regular updates and briefings to the team.
  • Track and monitor global health-related legislation and initiatives in the U.S. Congress and U.S Administration.
  • Support the organization’s advocacy campaigns, including preparing advocacy materials, briefing notes, and presentations.
  • Coordinate logistics for advocacy events, monthly working group meetings, and conferences.
  • Maintain and update contact lists and databases of key stakeholders and partners.
  • Assist in the organization of stakeholder meetings, webinars, and other engagement activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the policy and advocacy team.
  • Organize and maintain files, records, and documents related to advocacy and communications efforts.

Communications Support:

  • Support GHC’s editorial calendar and the execution of GHC’s digital media, including its newsletter (Mailchimp), website & blog (WordPress), social media (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).
  • Develop communications and social media content featuring GHC and community events, reports, news/updates, campaigns, and initiatives.
  • Draft communications content for GHC events based on the agenda, session content, and speakers.
  • Update the GHC website and events calendar, including various content and design updates.
  • Provide communications and social media support and liaise with GHC staff and external consultants to provide day(s)-of event support as needed.
  • Write newsletter and blog content along as needed.
  • Assist with and collaborate on special communications and events projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, International Relations, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in global health, advocacy, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience with social media management, content creation, and digital communications.
  • Familiarity with U.S. global health policies and knowledge of processes and rules of the U.S. Congress (i.e. appropriations, lobbying) highly desired.
  • Experience working with coalitions and/or membership organizations is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Creative, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language proficiency in French and/or Spanish is a plus.

Salary Range: $50,000-60,000
