Contract type: Permanent

Starting Salary:

  • Belgium: 30,937 EUR
  • Colombia: 23,138 USD
  • Ghana Salary: 20,791 USD
  • Senegal Salary: 14,811,664 XOF
  • Tunisia Salary: 17,292 USD
  • United Kingdom Salary: 35,584 GBP
  • United States Salary: 64,120 USD

Plus, a 10% pension contribution, international health cover, and attractive holiday allowances are additional to the salary (see full list of benefits below).

Requirements

The Senior Management Team Special Assistant is responsible for delivering efficient, effective, and proactive administrative support to a globally dispersed senior management team, including the President and CEO of NRGI, the Managing Director, and select responsibilities for the Chief Finance and Administrative Officer. With initiative, persistence, attention to detail and resourcefulness, the special assistant provides essential support to enable and reinforce a fast-paced, high-functioning team.

Engagement is at the heart of this role, as a key focal point for staff as well as high- level stakeholders from NRGI’s Governing Boards (US, UK, and EU), Advisory Council, funders, and partners around the world. In representing the senior management team, the special assistant will project the senior leadership’s spirit of openness, responsiveness, respect, professionalism, and humor. Demonstrated interest and ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with these internal and external stakeholders is essential.

The Special Assistant will demonstrate NRGI’s values of rigor, collaboration, passion, integrity, and impact.

Experience & Technical Skills Required

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, such as program support, c-suite administrative support, or project management within a non-governmental or international development organization.
  • Experience working with international, multi-cultural, virtual and hybrid organizations across different time zones. Ability to establish and maintain relationships in person or by video and email.
  • Demonstrated respect for confidentiality, excellent judgement, and consummate professionalism.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including great attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and deliver across multiple time sensitive projects simultaneously and effectively.
  • Demonstrated high level of written and spoken communication skills in English. In addition, fluency in Spanish and/or French would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience working to design and implement processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Whiteboard, etc.) and Zoom are essential. Experience tracking expenses and supporting implementation of administrative projects.
  • Ability to leverage modern tools like social media platforms, AI technologies and cloud-based software to streamline workflows and enhance productivity is a plus.
  • Digital design and content creation experience for presentations, social media etc. is an asset.

Education & Qualifications

A Bachelor of Arts or relevant experience, with an interest in international development, political economy, or related fields.
