Position description

The Fundraiser will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial sustainability of INCLO. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of supporting organizations to develop a fundraising strategy, securing funds from diverse sources and an understanding of human rights issues. The responsibilities include:

Fundraising Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy tailored to the needs of INCLO.
  • Explore innovative approaches to diversify funding sources, including foundations, foreign government grants, etc.
  • Stay informed on trends and innovations in the fundraising landscape to ensure competitiveness.

Donor Research and Cultivation:

  • Research and identify potential donors, including foundations, governmental agencies, private sector entities, and others.
  • Support Program Director and Associate Director to build and nurture strong relationships with existing and prospective donors through effective communication and engagement strategies.

Grant Writing and Proposal Development:

  • Draft high-quality grant applications and tailored proposals for diverse funding opportunities.
  • Ensure all submissions align with donor guidelines, organizational goals, and human rights principles.

Reporting and Accountability:

  • Lead drafting of compelling donor reports, ensuring transparency and demonstrating the impact of funded programs with support of programmatic staff.
  • Maintain a clear and organized record of donor communications, proposals, and reporting deadlines.

Capacity Building and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with team members and network members to align funding opportunities with programmatic needs.
  • Provide insights and training to colleagues and INCLO members on fundraising best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Nonprofit Management, Communications).
  • Three to five years of experience in fundraising, specifically for national or international human rights organizations.
  • Proven track record of securing significant funding from foundations, institutional donors, and other sources.
  • Excellent grant writing and proposal development skills, with attention to detail and adherence to donor requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate and sustain donor relationships.
  • Knowledge of international human rights issues, networks, and donors.
  • Proficiency in donor research tools, CRM software, and MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural and remote or hybrid environment.
