A role within Corporate Security means maintaining the physical security of our team members and property at our various facilities and locations. Here, you may support Target’s crises operations and continuity planning that provides guidance and procedures in the event of emergencies such as catastrophic weather.

The Director of Intelligence will lead intelligence operations within Target’s Corporate Security team, overseeing geopolitical, operational, and protective intelligence domains. This role will manage an intelligence team and work closely with key leaders across the organization to provide actionable insights that mitigate risks and support enterprise-wide decision-making. The Director will drive intelligence strategy, ensure seamless integration of intelligence functions, and enhance methodologies through advanced analytics and technology. This position plays a vital role in safeguarding Target’s global assets, leadership, and business continuity in an evolving threat landscape.

As Director of Intelligence, you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of intelligence professionals, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional development.
  • Develop reports and briefings for senior leadership, ensuring informed decision-making in dynamic security environments.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of intelligence related to security threats and business disruptions on a global scale.
  • Build and maintain intelligence-sharing partnerships with internal stakeholders, law enforcement agencies, and industry groups.
  • Enhance intelligence methodologies, leveraging advanced analytics, structured analytic techniques, intelligence sources, and proprietary tools.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, legal, and compliance teams to align intelligence efforts with enterprise security priorities and build an intelligence community.
  • Ensure intelligence operations adhere to legal, ethical, and privacy considerations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Risk Management, Security Studies, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in intelligence analysis, risk assessment, or security operations, preferably within corporate, government, or military sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in geopolitical intelligence, threat assessment, and protective intelligence methodologies.
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with intelligence tools, data analytics, and emerging technologies in security risk management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior executives.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments and respond rapidly to emerging threats.
  • Experience collaborating with government, law enforcement, and private sector security partners.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sensitivity while handling confidential information
