CREA Executive Director (Central America). You are waiting to make a difference in kid’s lives.
CREA will draw candidates who have a big heart and adventurous spirit and who are looking for more than a job. He or she will be establishing their life service-to-others legacy.
CREA opens minds, provides hope and prepares kids in the Global South to have a chance. Through cutting edge literacy programs, training in STEM, the largest library in the region, a staff of 35 enthusiastic local teachers and a budget of $750k, you can help CREA make a huge difference in people’s lives.
The Director will live in the resort area of Southern Nicaragua known as the Emerald Coast, which is rated by Iterntaational Living as one of the ten best places to reetire in the world. There will be golf, surfing, horses, tennis, health spas, pickleball, gated resorts and five star hotels. But the 3000 kids who we serve have dirt floors in their small homes, maybe a tin roof and no indoor plumbing. Full of hope and smiles!
Your cost of living will be less than half that of Costa Rica and substantially less than the USA. Beach front homes, with pool, etc., in gated communities start for around $1500 a month rent or $175k. A haircut is $3.50, a full meal with wine $35, a full hour doctor's visit $50. A housekeeper/cook earns less than $20 A a day.

Qualifications
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years executive level management.
- Clear, professional bilingual, English/Spanish speaker.
- Proven track record serving a Board of Directors.
- Proven fund raising track record.
- Understanding of the poverty challenges of the Global South.
- Advanced degree in nonprofit management, organization development, leadership or related field. (preferred)
- Deep understanding of Latin American education system. (preferred)
- Management level accounting oversight, budgeting, spreadsheets, dashboards.
