About the Team

The International Relations team is a part of the External Affairs & Industry Purpose programme. We are responsible for managing the high-level relationships between the GSMA and international intergovernmental organisations including the International Telecommunications Union and many other UN agencies, the World Bank, the OECD and the World Economic Forum. We work to ‘influence the influencers’ within these organisations so that they will amplify mobile industry messaging by sharing it with their own stakeholders, as well as giving the industry a platform to reach out to them directly.

The International Relations team is also responsible for the GSMA’s Capacity Building Programme, which provides free face-to-face and online training courses in mobile technology and policy to governments and regulatory authorities around the world. Through the programme we have delivered more than 1,000 training days to representatives of the administrations of more than 150 countries.

What the hiring manager says

“This a great opportunity to join a small team that punches above its weight in terms of its ability to influence international affairs.  With the reputation of the GSMA behind us, we can and do open doors with global influencers, with whom the mobile industry is delivering genuine impact in terms of connectivity and sustainable development. As stakeholders around the world collectively strive to achieve the targets of the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, this is the perfect time for a highly motivated and energetic individual to get involved. This role offers a genuine chance to do that.”
