Position description

OBXtek is recruiting for Intelligence Analyst (IA) personnel to monitor and research intelligence for the Navy.

This support includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Actively monitor, assess for application to NSWC PHD programs, and brief at Command-level all-source, business-related research and analysis produced by the Intelligence Community.
  • To the extent necessary, provide intelligence support to acquisition and research activities at NSWC PHD in a manner that addresses acquisition programs’ requirements to keep threat capabilities current and validated in program documents throughout the acquisition process.
  • Prepare report(s) of findings of such research and analysis for review by NSWC PHD Security and Command leadership.
  • Provide to NSWC PHD intelligence representative any command request for intelligence for submittal via the Community On-Line Intelligence System for End Users and Managers (COLISEUM) or other appropriate mechanisms.
  • Provide the ability to translate requirements, including production requirements, statements of intelligence interest and critical intelligence parameters for NSWC PHD to the intelligence community. Prepare Intelligence and Cyber threat briefings on adversary capabilities to keep the commanding officer or activity director informed of intelligence and threat based technological developments that impact the command's mission, programs, and projects.
  • Provide cyber-threat intelligence on cyber campaigns against U.S. information systems affecting NSWC PHD programs. Provide cyber-threat intelligence on possible cyber-related attacks on NSWC PHD programs.
  • Provide intelligence on emerging adversary technics, tactics, and procedures against U.S. information systems that might affect NSWC PHD.


Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.

Qualified for IAT I, II or III certification.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and seven (7) years’ experience related to intelligence and analysis.

  • Allowable substitution: Eleven (11) years of professional experience related to intelligence and analysis.

Seven (7) years of experience in the following areas of intelligence and analysis:

  • Preparing intelligence reports;
  • Maintaining and establishing intelligence records and files; and
  • Gathering and evaluating intelligence from various sources.

Five (5) years of experience in the following areas of intelligence and analysis:

  • Identification of threats and ensuring that critical information gets to superiors and decision-makers; and
  • Conceptualizing, draft, coordinate, and publish intelligence assessments about security issues.

One (1) year supervising junior personnel.

Functional Responsibility: Apply a basic knowledge of a professional discipline, the principles and techniques of inductive and deductive reasoning, and a subject-matter knowledge of either a geographical area of functional area to the production of finished intelligence reports and/or they apply the knowledge of a professional discipline such as international relations, current history, military science or political science and knowledge of the operations and resources of the organizations which make up the intelligence community to a subject-matter specialty in the field of intelligence operations.
