Position description

IANGEL seeks a dynamic Development Specialist to join our team. Our ideal candidate has insight and experience with donor relations, is ambitious and organized, creative and thoughtful, and passionate about advancing women’s rights globally. Working under the supervision of IANGEL’s leadership team, your role would include donor stewardship and cultivation, grant writing, development strategy, as well as social media campaigns and events.

Hours and Compensation. This part-time position offers a flexible and supportive work environment with an expected contribution of 5-15 hours per week. Compensation will be $21-25 per hour depending on experience, and includes opportunity for increased hours, responsibility, and advancement. The organization is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, but our staff work remotely.

Key Duties

  • Developing and implementing, in collaboration with the leadership team, strategic initiatives to welcome new donors, steward existing donors, and cultivate new donor relationships.
  • Collaborating on design and implementation of communications to advance development goals.
  • Assisting with grant writing, campaigns, and events.
  • Other duties upon request.

Desired Qualifications

  • College degree with excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Training or experience with nonprofit development and funding, especially in women’s rights or legal space.
  • Outgoing people-person, able to maintain and foster positive relationships with diverse donor, foundation, and professional communities.
  • Facility with social media tools and strategy: LinkedIn, BlueSky and Instagram.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, follow through with minimal direction, and work effectively in a remote, small team environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Google Suite and MS Office programs, including Word and Excel, and ability to use various databases. Experience with Neon CRM, Mailchimp, and Wordpress a plus.
  • Eager to learn with an open mind.
