The departments of International Studies and Political Science at Dickinson College are seeking qualified candidates for a two-year replacement position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor, beginning in academic year 2018-19 and continuing through the end of academic year 2019-20.
The teaching load for this position is five courses per year, to include introductory International Relations, upper-level American Foreign Policy, American National Security, and other courses related to international relations and security studies. Candidates should identify in the application letter the courses they are prepared to teach. Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate students in an interdisciplinary liberal arts environment, and the successful candidate is expected to participate fully in the intellectual life of the departments, including serving as oral examiner for the International Studies exams at the end of the academic year. The ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body will be an important characteristic of the successful candidate. A completed or nearly-completed Ph.D. is required.
