GoodWeave – a nonprofit organization founded in 1994 by Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi – is the leading global institution with a mission to end child labor, and forced and bonded labor, in global supply chains. Having proven its model and built partnerships with some of the world’s leading brands, such as Target Corporation, Macy’s, and The Otto Group, the organization is now expanding operations on the ground and into new product markets. GoodWeave is adapting its market-driven model to other new sectors including home textiles, apparel, fashion jewelry, tea and is helping to create a “better brick” industry in Nepal. Being a part of the GoodWeave team is to be on the frontlines of the burgeoning movement to end modern slavery and of an award-winning social entrepreneurial team.
The Strategic Initiatives Officer works closely with the Chief Executive Officer on a number of organizational initiatives, primarily fundraising related. S/he works with a small development team to engage funders and other external individuals and organizations.
Responsibilities include planning for and managing the development team meetings, developing and updating management tools, such as deadline calendar, prospect list, shared files and revenue outlook, managing hands-on fundraising with individual donors, major donors and specific funder relationships, and assisting with proposals and reporting. Occasional travel for meetings is involved, with the potential of participating in field visits to South Asia.

Experience with issues of child labor and child protection, modern slavery, sustainable consumption, socially responsible business and/or knowledge of the South Asian region a plus.
