Position description

The Global Strategic Alliance Manager will be responsible for managing and developing business relationships with key vendors who play an integral role in supporting the financial and practice management ecosystem. The primary objectives will be to increase revenues and reduce risk associated by creating and executing a strategy that offers benefits to all parties. The GSAM will develop and manage critical relationships and work to influence key vendors to align to this strategy. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Deep expertise and problem solving with contract clauses.
  • Creates and executes short and long-term vendor strategy plan in line with financial and practice management vision and goals
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key individuals across numerous vendor companies
  • Plays a strategic role in the development, negotiation and execution of 3rd party vendor agreements
  • Leads the development of Partner Business Case(s) and manages the internal process from conception through launch and then transitions into ongoing relationship maintenance
  • Stays abreast of Alliances best practices, Legal Industry trends and developments; communicates updates and internal corporate process and personnel changes
  • Liaisons regularly with key internal and cross-functional stakeholders, including Operations, Product Management, Marketing, Services, Support, Finance, Legal, & IT
  • Develops & Manages internal partner marketing offerings in conjunction with Marketing
  • Identifies opportunities for partnering, product and services resell and bundling, joint marketing and market development with emphasis on creating leveraged marketing, sales and revenue opportunities
  • Executes detailed go to market strategies, programs and plans for each partner category and key partner companies
  • Assists in managing and preparing communications with existing partners and the wider market


Bachelor’s degree in in Business Administration, Political Science, International Relations, Marketing, or related field. Law degree or MBA strongly desired.


  • 8+ years in Business Development, Channel Management, Account Management, Strategic Alliance or Partner Relationship Management
  • Experience working in the legal market within a law firm or corporate legal organization
  • Experience developing partnership strategies and go-to-market approaches
  • Experience in contract creation and negotiation
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed and global structure with ability to work collaboratively and effectively across functions and boundaries
  • Experience in working with software products with ability to understand and articulate basic product functionality and information


Understanding of the legal services industry and legal technology products

  • Strong understanding of basic contracting principles
  • Adept at contract negotiation
