The Education Research Section at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University seeks a postdoctoral or more senior researcher to work closely with Professor Jennifer Jennings conducting collaborative policy-relevant education research. The successful candidate will develop and implement a research agenda together with Jennifer Jennings and participate in the academic life of the school. The appointment is for twelve months with the possibility of renewal for a second year, pending satisfactory performance and continued funding.
Candidates are required to have rich experiences in working with large administrative datasets, coding in Stata and Matlab, as well as advising and managing students and research assistants. The start date is expected to be during the Fall 2019 semester.
*Collaborate in the creation of research agenda and data analysis plans *Conduct analyses of district student-level administrative data, as well as nationally-representative cohort studies (i.e. ECLS-K, National Study of Children's Health) *Implement a variety of statistical and econometric techniques *Prepare interim analysis memos describing findings *Co-author academic manuscripts and other policy reports *Work collaboratively with a team of researchers at varying academic stages, including faculty, post-docs, graduate students, and undergraduates
*PhD in economics, sociology, public policy, or education *Working knowledge of current education policy research *Experience conducting field experiments or resume audit studies *Strong analytical, research, and written communication skills *Ability to communicate research results clearly and concisely to both academic and non-academic audiences, both verbally and in writing *Ability to teach and support advanced data analysis to junior scholars, including graduate and undergraduate students
