The European Network Against Racism is recruiting a full-time Impact and Process Officer.

The European Network Against Racism (ENAR) is the only pan-European anti-racism network that combines advocacy for racial equality and facilitating cooperation among civil society anti-racism actors in Europe. Our long-term vision is for a Europe where there is full equality, solidarity and well-being for all, citizens and residents. Our overall aim is to end structural racism in the European Union and to build structures, institutions and attitudes based on race equality and equal distribution of power, privileges and rights. We specifically work to combat racism and discrimination based on colour, ethnicity, national origin, nationality, religion, culture, language or legal status. Our staff is based in our Secretariat in Brussels and our member organisations work in all EU countries.
The Impact and Process Officer will be based in Brussels. This is a full-time position for an open-ended contract. The gross monthly salary is between 2,996 and 3,100 €.
The Impact & Process Officer is tasked with developing and supervising the implementation of internal processes, improving impact assessment mechanisms, supporting the Team in their implementation and report on progress, as outlined by the Director.
- analyse, review and improve current monitoring tools, support the Team to optimise their use;
- provide coordinated and cogent impact and progress assessment reports to the various stakeholders of the Network;
- ensure that the learnings of the impact report are feeding into the development of the upcoming strategic priorities of the Network;
- develop and/or improve current work processes and regulations in the organisation, monitor their implementation, support the Team in their implementation and review them accordingly towards optimal efficiency;
- coordinate the drafting and implementation of grants and other specific projects as well as the final reporting to funders;
- work closely with the Director and all the Officers to ensure consistency in the policy, communication, research, network development and administration work.
The Impact and Process Officer reports to the Director.
- Develop and implement processes to generate strategic and annual work plans, phase their development and implementation and ensure they happen in due time;
- Monitor the implementation of the strategic and annual work plans; develop and collect KPIs; improve impact assessment processes; assess impact, evaluate and review work processes accordingly;
- Support the Team in, and coordinate, the implementation of monitoring activities and collection of relevant data;
- Coordinate between ENAR’s own and third party activities.
- Develop work related processes and work regulations (safety…), oversee their implementation and suggest adjustments where relevant;
- Responsible for ensuring that mediation or conflict management actions are undertaken by the relevant parties (internal or external) in case of misunderstanding, dispute or conflict;
- Ensure a smooth communication on process related issues with all team members;
- Develop job analyses and assess needs for the organisation;
- Propose personal development and training plans to other Team members, with the support of the Director and in coordination with the Administration Officers and the Senior Budget Officer;
- Contribute to the recruitment of new colleagues, with a particular focus on diversity and inclusion policies;
- Collaborate with other Team members to the overall well-being of the Team;
- Improve internal processes and activities (e.g. the efficiency of Team meetings);
- Lead on the maximisation of the skills present in the Team to harness them in view of the increased efficiency of the organisation.
Grant management & fundraising:
- Coordinate applications to institutional funders and projects for fundraising;
- Coordinate reporting to all funders.
Support to governance and team work:
- Coordinate the policy updates for the Board, based on the monitoring of the implementation of the strategic and work plans;
- Collaborate with the other Team members to ensure consistency in ENAR’s overall work;
- Any task related to the post as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Director.
Education, knowledge and experience:
- Educated at university level or equivalent degree or experience;
- Minimum 3 years of proven track record in impact assessment and/or process development at national or international level, of which at least 1 year’s work experience at EU level;
- Proven experience in project coordination/development and/or grant writing is an asset;
- Good knowledge of human rights, discrimination and/or related issues;
- Experience of working in a multicultural team;
- Knowledge of the NGO sector is an asset;
- Readiness to challenge and be challenged about one’s assumptions.
Abilities and skills:
- Outstanding analytical, organisational and project development skills;
- Process minded;
- Excellent drafting skills: the ability to lay out complex processes in accessible language;
- Good communication and presentation skills (ability to address a wide range of audiences);
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing) and good knowledge of French;
- Sound organisational skills and ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines;
- Good team player, sound judgment and maturity;
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
