Empatico is creating a global movement to spread kindness and empathy. Our platform was created to enable the future generation to be more empathetic and to open their minds to new experiences, ideas, and people. Recently featured on NBC Nightly News and named a Fast Company 2018 World Changing Idea, Empatico offers a free tool for educators of children ages 6-11 to connect their classroom with other classrooms around the world. The online platform consists of a matching algorithm, video, chat messaging, and file sharing technology along with high-quality classroom activities. Through these experiences, children can develop greater empathy and understanding for one another that positively influence our future society. Empatico is in its third year of operation and has reached more than 30,000 classrooms in 150+ countries. Empatico has been given generous seed funding by The KIND Foundation.

Overview of the Role

Empatico is seeking an entrepreneurial Director of Product Management to help shape the future of the Empatico platform. This is a leadership role responsible for setting the product strategy, executing the product roadmap, leading market research and product market fit analysis that lead to informed decision making across the organization. The role requires working cross-functionally and building strong relationships with functional leaders.


  • Lead and drive the product strategy to align with the organization’s mission
  • Be a hands-on leader and drive the product roadmap, development and implementation plans
  • Deliver an incredible experience to children and educators by advocating for the “voice of the customer”
  • Partner with marketing on defining the go-to market strategy and execute on plan to reach target users and competitively position the product
  • Lead ideation, development and launch of product features
  • Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm
  • Manage, mentor and build a high performing product focused team
  • Identify and mitigate product risks
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of the product and features



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years product management experience
  • 3+ years experience as a people manager
  • Experience leading all aspects of product management: identifying market opportunities, leading product vision and roadmap, developing business cases, driving execution activities, and measuring results
  • Ability to build consensus around the product roadmap and communicating the vision to the broader organization
