Principal analyst provides analysis of all-source data in a multi-intelligence area to produce executive-level defense reports relevant on a national or global level.
Serve as subject matter expert in the intelligence analysis field supporting a DoD customer.
Responsible for final review of intelligence reports and prompt delivery to the customer at all levels.
Often leads in the research of all-source data and assists other intelligence analysts in the operation and use of intelligence tools.
Work as a member of a government and contractor team conducting signal, imagery, and multi-source intelligence analysis.
Generally, requires Army, Navy, Marine or Air Force Intelligence training and certification.
Experience requires expertise of fundamental imagery interpretation skills including basic plotting, map reading, image orientation for stereo viewing, identification of equipment and objects for defense analysis, and marine vessel identification.
Knowledge of multiple types of sensing systems, including radar and spectral imagery sources required.
Experience and training in one or more areas of; threat analysis, foreign intelligence, counterintelligence, risk and vulnerability assessments, military operations, investigations, technology protection, security, and antiterrorism/force protection are highly desirable.
Experience analyzing events of national intelligence interest
Experience manipulating various classified and open source databases
Knowledge of all-source intelligence, including SIGINT, and/or HUMINT collection reports
Ability to read and process all-source intelligence reports and implement directives, as presented daily
Previous experience writing Finished INTEL products with a focus on counterterrorism
Ability to research, analyze, and fuse complex data sets and generate leads to advance dynamic objectives collection and analysis
Experience manipulating data ( for example, performing Boolean logic searches) in order to pull out pertinent information for finished intelligence products
Experience developing quantitative metrics and analyzing trends
Experience coordinating with multiple IC partners
Familiarity with key US foreign policy and national security Counterterrorism (CT) objectives
Strong attention to detail and previous writing experience supporting an IC customer
Ability to think and act quickly in a high pressure environment
Familiarity with cable writing styles and classified client databases, including specific targeting tools
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree 5 years of experience; OR a Master’s degree 3 years of experience. Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts. Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 5 - 7 yrs of experience, or a Master's and 3 - 5 yrs of experience.
