The main responsibilities of this role are to organize, plan, and manage business development, sales and customer relationship efforts in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa “EMEA” region to exceed business objectives. This position will also be responsible for facilitating new business opportunities for all of Sikorsky Aircraft’s product lines in the EMEA region. 

Knowledge of the proposal process, pricing systems and rates, elements of cost and how they are estimated is required for a successful candidate. The candidate must be able to explain proposals and related issues to management and rapidly obtain answers to customer questions and issues. Familiarity with the international aerospace industry and markets, military operational requirements, and international affairs is highly desirable. 

The position will also require a broad interface with multiple company disciplines including business development, International BD and Program Management, Aftermarket / Customer Support, Operations, Legal, ITC, etc.
 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability in developing sales leads, establishing win plans, and leading Capture Teams to capture opportunities. This includes the marketing, promotion and selling of all related products and services both internally and externally.
  • Strong ability to develop regional business objectives, strategies, and plans. This includes developing a funnel of opportunities, projected sales and revenues, and growth strategies to maximize market share.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships as this role will need to nourish partnerships with U.S. Embassies, customers, and in-country sales representatives / consultants and in-region Field Service representatives.
  • Flexibility to travel internationally (approximately 40%) in support of contract development and negotiation.
  • The incumbent must have a comprehensive knowledge of the rotary-wing industry, aircraft support, program management, marketing principles and practices, a thorough understanding of related industry practices, and a firm knowledge of the various styles and types of governments in the assigned territory. Familiarity with and knowledge and experience with Sikorsky products is also essential.

Desired Skills:

  • Military experience desired but not essential.
  • International experience is preferred as the ability to meet and converse easily in the region with high level ranking officials and/or technical customer personnel is essential.
  • Prior knowledge of the LM Bridge is utilized in this process and familiarity with this system is an advantage. Candidate will be managing all pursuits using the company CRM tools provided (LM Bridge); be the primary point of contact for (S&OP) Sales Operations & Planning inputs relative to assigned pursuits.
  • The ability to meet and converse easily in the region with high level ranking officials and/or technical customer personnel is also required.

Experience negotiating contracts a plus possess basic technical knowledge of the aircraft, aircraft systems, and/or maintenance knowledge is a plus 

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. This includes ability to create, compose, edit written materials.
