Position description

Working exclusively with the CEOs and senior executives of the world’s leading companies, Teneo provides strategic counsel across their full range of key objectives and issues. Our clients include a significant number of the Fortune 100 and FTSE 100, as well as other global corporations.

Integrating the disciplines of strategic communications, investor relations, digital advisory, diversity & inclusion, management consulting, physical & cyber risk advisory, financial advisory, corporate governance advisory, political risk advisory, and talent advisory, Teneo solves for the most complex business challenges and opportunities.

As Managing Director on the Political Risk Advisory, this role leads business development and client management for the corporate client base, product development and management, and plays a critical role in integrating the Political Risk team across other Teneo divisions and clients. The Managing Director collaborates with our clients to understand and manage policy and political developments as part of their corporate strategy, developing tailored solutions which leverage the expertise of our team of political risk analysts and colleagues across Teneo and around the world from crisis management and strategic communications to management consulting.

This role requires significant experience in political and policy risk and corporate strategy. An understanding of, or a commitment to rapidly learn about, strategic communications – including government and public affairs and corporate public policy – is preferable. The ability to ‘connect the dots’ between external developments and global trends to business implications and corporate strategy is critical in this role, as well as the ability to identify overlapping and complementary solutions across Teneo capabilities to develop innovative solutions for our clients. An integrated approach to client solutions is a hallmark of Teneo’s proposition. Building successful integrated solutions requires a highly curious and collaborative approach, and a dedication to working across teams, offices, and functions.

This role also includes responsibilities across the Strategy & Communications division, working closely with Teneo’s Global Government Affairs team in particular. These include overseeing global government and public affairs mandates for select global clients which involves coordinating with client account leadership in offices around the world and ensuring alignment with corporate strategy at the client headquarters. The Managing Director will also represent the Political Risk advisory team and capabilities on Teneo’s ESG global taskforce. This will include developing offerings, marketing and business development initiatives focused on the political drivers of ESG and global public policy trends, and to support our CEO clients navigating engagement in social and political issues.
