The Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) is pleased to invite qualified professionals to apply for the position of Strategist, Evaluation & Research.

The Strategist, Evaluation & Research serves alongside senior staff on the Client Services Team who are accountable for implementing consulting and training projects and meeting deadlines within budget parameters. The Strategist, Evaluation & Research provides organizational development consulting to nonprofit organizations, and specializes in generating and supporting evaluation and research projects, engaging research design, data collection, analysis and interpretations, and reporting expertise.  The Strategist, Evaluation & Research is responsible for project management activities and the delivery of consulting and training services, including maintaining project assignments and deliverables, regular reporting, meetings and communication, and ensuring resources and efforts are focused on project priorities and are on-track as necessary to complete projects.



We are seeking a talented program manager who is passionate and knowledgeable about programming that lifts up diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice as core values. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, evaluator and researcher with proven capacity building experience in communities across Southern California, and willing to adapt and change as we go. We would also be thrilled to find someone with the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  1. Assists client services staff with client contact and service activities, and provides support to client services staff including preparation of materials for presentations, client reports using data visualization techniques, database management, etc.
  2. Conducts, and oversees data-related activities (including data collection and analysis to develop well-informed and effective strategic plans) for program evaluation, research, and to support strategic planning and other consulting projects
  3. Manages the design and refinement of evaluation, research and protocol
  4. Develops, coordinates and implements standard consulting proposals and letters of agreement and supports the development and/or revision of consulting project documents.
  5. Monitors ongoing projects and teams, as well as directs prioritization among projects. Maintains all pending and active consulting project files and brief team members on project status.
  6. Works in partnership with executive staff to build annual client services project budget.
  7. Co-leads the development and/or revision of training materials.
  8. Assists in other CNM-wide projects; provide back-up support to other departments as required; and represent CNM in various public forums as necessary.
  9. Other duties, as needed.


  • Experience in developing and fostering client relationships and managing client projects
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment, strong attention to details
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data and synthesize. Knowledge and experience with database and data analysis (SPSS, Access, infographics, and Salesforce)
  • Experience in delivering training/workshops
  • Ability to develop presentations and summarize information into formats for a wide range of clients
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate leadership qualities
  • Demonstrate initiative and good judgement, creativity and a positive attitude



  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or social services related field, or 5 years of related experience and/or training combined
  • Minimum of 5 years working in or supporting nonprofits
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams, and other online tools. Experience with CRM database (such as Salesforce) a plus
  • High degree of ethics and integrity
  • Bilingual preferred
