What is the opportunity?
The Senior Partnerships Manager is responsible for leading a team of Partnerships Managers and representing Water Mission in building long-term relationships with current and prospective mid-level partners including but not limited to individuals, families, businesses, foundations, and churches. This role focuses on building and managing the development (revenue-generating) strategies for the Partnerships Managers to accomplish goals and objectives established by the Senior Director of Investor Partnerships. This will include sharing what God is doing through the ministry and intentionally stewarding relationships that invite people into deep and meaningful partnerships to facilitate the funding of Water Mission’s vision.
This position is also responsible for engaging a portfolio of donors through a quarterly communication strategy that includes phone calls, emails, handwritten notes, ministry updates, etc. He or she will also qualify potential major donors through prospect research and coordinate closely with Partnerships Directors in transitioning relationships. The Senior Partnerships Manager will report to the Senior Director of Investor Partnerships and can be based at Water Mission's headquarters in Charleston, SC, or remotely. A successful Senior Partnerships Manager will:
Intentionally Build Relationships and Present Opportunities
Win relationships with current and prospective partners. Actively identify the greatest areas of alignment and invite givers into deep and meaningful financial partnerships. Seek opportunities to utilize a partner’s influence, time, and talent.
Grow and maintain a portfolio of approximately 600 partners giving between $1,000 - $10,000 annually.
Execute a strategic quarterly touch for each partner to advance relationship. This includes phone calls, updates and reporting, emails, letters, and other meaningful interactions.
Develop email templates to be used by Partnerships Managers and the Partner Care Specialist to support partner engagement.
Oversee periodic campaigns designed by Partnerships Managers to ensure they are informative and free of errors.
Build reports for Senior Director or other senior leadership as requested.
Serve and Care for Partners
Qualify potential major partners through prospect research and coordinate closely with Partnerships Directors in transitioning relationships.
Assist and manage Partnerships Managers as they consider qualifying partners. Support a clean transfer of relationships ensuring clear communication internally and externally.
Continually evaluate and measure performance by monitoring key metrics and conducting analysis.
Perform supervisory duties, including, but not limited to: ensuring milestones, goals, and deadlines are met; invoice processing; and approval of administrative tasks related to time and expenses.
Oversee the hiring and onboarding process for all Partnerships Managers in coordination with the Senior Director of Investor Partnerships. Ensure staff is effectively trained in job functions, has clear goals and is held accountable for their work output.
Support the Senior Director of Investor Partnerships as needed to develop and monitor income and expense budgets for the Partnerships Manager team.
Generate reports and analysis for Senior Director of Investor Partnerships as needed.
