Position description

Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Talent Mobility Specialist for our Fort Mill, SC location. This position will coordinate the Global Mobility Program for Americas Region (Canada, US, Mexico and South America), including Talent Mobility and the Business Travel Program.

This role is also responsible for the organization of international assignments as well as for providing the tools and resources required for the organization of business trips.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

International Assignments

  • Provide information on the guidelines for international assignments 
  • Maintain assignees data in the expat management system
  • Prepare Transfer Salary Calculations and Cost Estimates
  • Guide employees on visa requirements and work with Immigration Service partners on visa and work permit applications
  • Coordinate international transfers process of employees including inbound and outbound assignments (from and to Americas Region) and support employees on the relocation process including moving service, travel arrangements, housing, transportation, school for children, health insurance, tax assistance, language training and intercultural training 
  • Coordinate social security agreements (Totalizations Agreements) between home and host companies  
  • Prepare assignment contracts and secondment contracts (Intercompany Contracts) 
  • Coordinate Intercompany cost charging 
  • Manage agreements with global mobility services providers as Relocation Service, Moving Service, Tax Service, Corporate Housing Service, etc.
  • Coordinate Departure Meetings with outbound assignees
  • Coordinate Welcome Meetings with inbound assignees
  • Coordinate assignment extensions, when required
  • Coordinate repatriation process back to the home country
  • Prepare and/or Review Welcome Presentations for foreign national employees 
  • Prepare and/or Review Local Guidelines for Foreign Assignments per Country 
  • Prepare and/or Review Foreign Local Hires Policy for Americas Region 
  • Prepare and/or Review Internal Procedures for the organization of International Transfers (inbound and outbound assignments).

Annual Activities:

  • Coordinate the annual salary review process for expats - Americas Region
  • Coordinate expats annual bonus calculations and payment

Travel Program Management

  • Educate and guide traveler’s compliance with Schaeffler Travel Policy 
  • Provide guides on the Online Booking Tool
  • Maintain and review contract with Travel Management Company
  • Maintain and update SConnect intranet page
  • Maintain agreements with airlines, hotels and rental car companies, and provide information to travelers and travel management company regarding preferred vendors, discounts, corporate rates, funds, corporate reward programs and member status
  • Provide information on Duty of Care Program / Risk and Crisis Management Program
  • Prepare and provide reports on number of business trips, travel spend, top destinations and top carriers
  • Manage Unused Tickets Program and monitor Non-Refundable Tickets Cancelations
  • Manage contracts and coverage of travel / health insurance for international business trips


  • Education Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and/or International Business or International Relations, and/or Tourism and/or Human Resources;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience managing data using SAP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience dealing with international affairs and immigration-related matters
  • Experience with International Travel or participation in Exchange Program
  • Fluency in English, Portuguese and Spanish Languages
  • Experience with Concur 
  • Experience with building intranet sites
  • Strong Customer Service skills and the ability to adjust communication styles to reflect the audience ranging from tactical to executive
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills including a proclivity for working with numbers, reports and data.



  • Minimum of 3 years previous related experience in Expats Management / International HR and/or Travel Management;
