Position description

As a Programme Officer, you will support the delivery of the Academy’s Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation, under the guidance of the Programme Manager, International Entrepreneurship; Senior Manager, International Development, the respective Steering Committees and Judging Panels.

This is a varied role focusing on programme and event organisation, awardee support, and monitoring and evaluation.

The Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation is Africa’s biggest prize dedicated to engineering innovation. It awards crucial commercialisation support to ambitious African innovators developing scalable engineering solutions to local challenges, demonstrating the importance of engineering as an enabler of improved quality of life and economic development.

Since launching in 2014, an active network of 100 plus entrepreneurs and small teams from 16 countries across the continent have received training and mentoring.

The role will involve travel to Africa to host events and training programmes for awardees and alumni, jointly organised with service providers. On rare occasions this might be as the sole representative of the Academy.

Location

Our light, spacious offices are based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. We operate hybrid, flexible working practices with a baseline 2 days a week in the office.
