The Role

Based remotely in one of the cities mentioned above, you’ll coordinate Alight’s response welcoming Ukrainian families and newcomers to the U.S.  You’ll be guided by and receive support from the Director of the Americas. Simply put, your purpose will be to coordinate Alight’s response efforts, build true connection to the Ukrainian community, and coordinate programming to ensure the quality of the project meets the needs of Ukrainian families and hits program targets.

-          Ukrainian families feel a sense of guidance, dignity and welcome in their new community.

-          Alight builds out successful connections and programming in 3-5 identified cities.

-          You have helped change the standard for what resettlement looks like.

-          Community members, corporations, foundations and governments are inspired and want to join in supporting the work.


The Team

You will join the brand new, U.S. Ukraine Response team. You will manage a team consisting of guides, support staff and volunteers. Behind you, you’ll be supported by the Alight team backing you up and providing back-office support to achieve project goals.

Bravely Be Better – You understand the gaps in the current system and aren’t afraid to serve the customers in a better way, no matter what it takes.

Find Others – It’s going to take all of us to provide real, human-worthy homes and services to families seeking refuge.  You will work to engage with members of the Ukrainian diaspora community and a variety of other groups who believe in a shared value to achieve great outcomes.

Do the Doable – The mountain can feel big, but you know success can come in small ways, and will lead the team to have a “doing the doable” spirit.  

Project Coordination and Management

-          You will help design and oversee the implementation of our U.S. response, including our roll-out of U.S. guides in 3-5 cities as well as private sponsorship support.

-          Through your constant communication with the Ukrainian community, work closely with the Director of the Americas and other departments to build out a larger strategy for programming, engagement and communications to ensure a successful program. 

-          Oversee timely reporting, compliance and quality to financial partners.

-          Collaborate with the Alight Communications team to ensure timely and targeted communication and information flow to all internal and external partners.

-          Work closely with Alight’s Engagement/Fundraising team to ensure they have most updated vision to share with others, plan engagement activities, etc.

Building Connections 

-          Build connections with Ukrainian diaspora including associations, individuals, etc., learning from each location’s way of supporting to curate a custom support network in each identified location.

-          Build a team of U.S. guides from the Ukrainian diaspora or from newly-arrived Ukrainians and ensure their work is well-coordinated while also customized to each location’s unique context and needs.

-          Constantly engage with Ukrainian families, listening to feedback for program quality, ongoing needs and vision for the future.

-          Provide connection between diaspora communities and Alight, making linkages that create a more human-centered program.

-          Connect the dots and provide potential connections, in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, for partnerships and mutual wins.


-          Through your network, support program fundraising by identifying donors and partners that are closely aligned with Alight’s work. 

-          Work closely with Connections team and the Director of the Americas to build a fundraising strategy and ambitiously pursue potential partners. 




            Provide daily leadership to the project team, coaching and guiding them towards success.

            Represent Alight and the program with donors, media and other stakeholders to build and strengthen our external relationships and cultivate partnerships.  

            Support content creation for continuous communication with volunteers and supporters for new and continued engagement.

            You have an infectious enthusiasm for project delivery and execution, a fanatical devotion to vulnerable people, and this isn’t your first time.  As such, you’ve had experience in a project management and rolling out complex projects.  

            You are culturally agile and are invigorated by co-creating with multiple partners.

            You have a founders’ spirit, embrace ambiguity, and are joyful to the people you serve and work beside. 

            You understand the Ukrainian resettlement context deeply and have built connections in this space.

            You have language fluency in English and Ukrainian
