Position description
The Senior Manager, Intergenerational Initiatives is a new position that will be a key part of Generations United’s intergenerational program team to expand the development of programs and initiatives that bring younger and older people together around the country. This position is responsible for leading our work to amplify and support our diverse intergenerational programs initiative; managing grant-funded and other on-going initiatives of the organization; delivering training and technical assistance; identifying and securing funding; developing tools and publications; and engaging effectively with our members and network.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities include:
- Lead Generations United’s intergenerational initiatives including building strategic partnerships to support the expansion of high-quality intergenerational practices and elevating intergenerational efforts in diverse communities and with diverse populations.
- Develop new concepts and secure new funding including grants and contracts for intergenerational program work by identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and proposal writing.
- Manage grants and contracts to ensure timely implementation and overall excellence, including meeting deliverables, leading project teams, writing reports, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance. Manage communications and relationships with funders.
- Provide training and technical assistance on intergenerational programs and best practices to individuals and organizations.
- Develop intergenerational resources and tools and manage webinars and other learning networks.
- Represent Generations United on external advisory groups, networks, coalitions, and at meetings, conferences, or other events.
- Actively apply a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) lens to all aspects of the work including through the use of the Racial Equity Impact Analysis tool.
- Collaborate across Generations United, lead cross-team working groups, and work with communications, internal operations, and grandfamilies teams.
- Supervise direct reports and consultants in accordance with the agency’s policies and applicable laws.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Proactively monitor media and make suggestions for social media, newsletters, and other external communications.
- Assist with organization-wide events including our global conference.
- Other duties as assigned.
