iEthanol, The European Industrial & Beverage Ethanol Association, is a Brussels-based trade association representing producers of ethanol for industrial and beverage uses in Europe. We are a non-profit organisation representing the interests of 15 companies across Europe, active in the production of non-fuel ethanol. Our role is to ensure that the non-fuel ethanol industry is governed by suitable and fair standards in terms of trade, customs, environment, competition and health. We are looking for a new colleague to support our work in Brussels. The start date is as soon as possible. We offer a three months initial contract under Belgian law with possibility for long term hire. Only candidates having the right to work and reside in Belgium should apply.
Role and responsibilities:
Policy:
- Monitor EU policy and legislative developments relevant for the ethanol sector;
- Research on relevant issues and topics;
- Write, edit and distribute various types of content, including material for the website, internal newsletters, presentations, and other types of content that take the message to the public.
Administrative:
- Schedule meetings and appointments;
- Serve as the point person for office manager duties including errands, equipment, supplies, shopping, mailing etc.;
- Coordinate and liaise with iEthanol service providers;
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process for new hires;
Qualifications
- Proven interest in and knowledge of the functioning of the EU institutions, legislative making process and EU trade & agri policy;
- Degree or equivalent experience in international relations, law, political sciences, chemistry or other areas relevant for the post;
- Fluent command of English (oral & written);
- Strong IT skills with sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel);
- Proven skills in delivering results under pressure, excellent organisational ability and a proactive results-driven approach to problem solving;
- Proven ability to work autonomously, support others and deliver results, including in a fast-paced and changing environment;
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with proven ability to manage plan and prioritise tasks and workload;
- High-quality communications and drafting skills;
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience:
- Good command of French;
- Ability to think strategically to spot opportunities;
