The Bureau for Planning, Learning, and Resource Management (PLR) at USAID is responsible for aligning policies with budgets, planning, and program management. PLR's work focuses on using evidence to guide decisions, fostering collaboration, and encouraging innovation. ZemiTek, a trusted partner providing institutional support services, is actively recruiting for a Program Assistant position (pending funding.) This role involves providing administrative and programmatic support to senior leadership and teams, contributing to efficient operations and coordination across various offices.

Location: Washington, DC
Position Type: Full-time (Hybrid - requires reporting to the office at least 3 days per week)
Salary: $64,000 - $67,000 (starting salary determined based on candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and education)

Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret-level clearance (US citizenship required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct administrative support to leadership and staff including:
  • Managing calendars and scheduling.
  • Preparing meeting materials and logistical support.
  • Coordinating follow-ups from meetings.
  • Manage the travel authorization process, including making travel arrangements, securing clearances and visas, and preparing travel vouchers.
  • Draft and circulate meeting minutes, correspondence, reports, and other written materials.
  • Track and task a variety of technical documents to ensure timely completion and review.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior-level officials.
  • Maintain an organized electronic filing system for efficient documentation and retrieval.
  • Apply administrative policies and oversee systems to support staff requirements.
  • Support outreach and communication efforts in written and verbal formats.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field and At least two (2) years of experience in a similar administrative or program support role, with a proven track record of providing high-level administrative support, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and correspondence drafting.
  • Prior experience within an international development organization, government agency, or nonprofit is preferred, along with a demonstrated background or interest in international relations.
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and environments while effectively managing multiple tasks.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and amplifying marginalized voices.
  • Ability to obtain an interim and full Secret-level security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
