Reports to: CEO and President of Willows International (WI)

 

Organization Background

Willows International (WI) is a global leader in reproductive health and family planning service delivery, focusing on personalized, client-centered approaches to empower women and families in making informed decisions about their reproductive health. WI’s flagship Willows Client Management System (WISE) is designed to provide customized counseling, client need and program priorities driven client services management, and effective follow-up to improve contraceptive uptake, satisfaction with the method chosen and continuation rates.

 Moving forward WI has begun transitioning from paper-based client management to digital health platforms, to integrate the Willows International’s Service Enhancement System (WISE) and Willows Box System (WBS) with national e-Health Information Systems (eHIS) in program countries. In addition, WI will develop e-learning solutions to support training, capacity building, and supervision of Community Health Workers (CHWs). WI will leverage digital innovations in WISE and Willows Box system implementation in its program countries to expand access to reproductive health services and improve data-driven decision-making at scale.

Summary of Responsibilities

The Senior Specialist - Digital & E-Learning will be responsible for digitalization of the WI’s reproductive health data collection and client management system and working closely with the digital health information teams at each WI program country, integrating WI digital system into each country’s digital health information system.

In addition, the Senior Specialist - Digital & E-Learning will be responsible for the development of e-learning materials, learning management systems, digital reference tools, virtual supervision and mentorship tools and other related materials and programs for WI training materials and client management systems and tools.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand the eHIS system and reproductive health e-learning being developed or in place in each country.
  • Work closely with the eHIS (e Health Information System) offices in each country to understand and determine how best the WI digital client management and other program components can fit into the country’s eHIS.
  • Develop WI digital WISE and WBS to integrate into respective country’s eHIS.
  • Develop training materials for the Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Community Health Supervisors (CHWS) in use of WI digital data collection and client management tools.
  • Develop monitoring tool for use by CHWS to carry out appropriate capacity development for CHWs.
  • Collaborate with Willows program team and relevant MoH partners to design and implement a robust e-Learning platform (eLS) for comprehensive WISE and Willows Box systems that are integrated into existing government digital initiatives.
  • Develop interactive digital training content for CHWs using dynamic audio-visual -based learning, quizzes, case studies, and scenario-based role-plays to enhance retention and engagement.
  • Ensure seamless access to e-learning resources on WISE/ WBS on smartphones, tablets, and offline platforms.
  • Develop virtual supervision and mentorship systems for real-time performance tracking and feedback.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshoot the implementation of WI digital tools at implementation sites.
  • Represent the WI at various relevant meetings and working groups.

Qualifications

Education and Qualifications

Education: MSc or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Digital Health, Health Informatics, e-Learning Technology, Computer Science, Health Information Systems or related fields.

Experience: Minimum of seven years of work experience in digital health, health information technology development, implementation, designing, testing and implementing eHealth systems and digital training methodologies, strategies, e-learning development, providing end-user training, understanding software development processes, and user requirement.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience in the development and implementation of digital health information standards, procedures, and guidelines to support operational processes.
  • Technical experience with digital systems networking, databases, e-learning development, quality assurance, and user support.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, dashboard development, and digital supervision tools, and problem solving.
  • Experience with global digital health standards such as DHIS2, OpenMRS, FHIR, HL7 etc.
  • Experience in agile software development methodology.
  • Background in a different programming language.

Experience in working effectively in a diverse team of partners and stakeholders and maintaining good working relationships.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
  • Extensive knowledge of hardware platforms and enterprise software applications.
  • Good background in Database design.
  • Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
  •  Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks, prepare and review operational reports or progress reports.

Work Conditions and Place

  • The preferred residency is in the U.S.A. however, residency in other countries may be considered.
  • Frequent travel to the Willows International’s operational countries is required.  
  • The position is full-time.
