Position description
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Analyze key donor policies in the international development and global health arena for Unitaid to engage and ensure a high-level representation from Unitaid in strategic events and high- level platforms.
- Organize internal Country Teams to implement an engagement plan for Unitaid to secure predictable and growing resources from existing and new donors.
- Coordination of a political and technical proposal for Unitaid to engage with the potential new donors (sovereign, foundations and others), notably with the support of UNITAID Members States and like-minded countries, and in coordination with the Executive Board and the Executive Office.
- Liaise with external partners, such as members of parliament, parliamentary groups, civil society and communities, with a view to position Unitaid on the global health agenda and develop long standing partnerships with key stakeholders, including through the elaboration of formal frameworks for collaboration.
- Prepare concept notes and briefing notes to engage with a wide range of partners and donors, as well as talking points and supporting documents for senior management including the Executive Director.
- Acquire and analyze information and perspectives from government officials and institutional counterparts on operational matters creating relationships of trust and understanding that underpin effective coordination and collaboration.
- Prepare relevant reports for Unitaid Board Meeting and relevant subcommittees, as well as strategic documents related to Unitaid's ERC strategy and Resource Mobilization plan Contribute to the implementation of resource mobilization strategy and ensure partnerships-focused activities are implemented in close relation with other workstreams, especially on Governance and Communications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential:
- Advanced level university degree in social sciences, economics, health, international relations, diplomacy, business, communications, partnerships or related fields.
Desirable:
- Educational background in health and development.
Experience
Essential:
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in advocacy, resource mobilization, diplomacy, strategy and policy development in public health or international development.
- Experience in engaging institutional donors and other development financiers at senior level.
- Extensive experience in negotiating funding agreements, and working with advocates in global health and/or development.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple high-level relationships, including political and governmental.
- Experience in key donor markets.
Desirable:
- Experience in health projects in at least one of Unitaid`s programmatic priorities (i.e., HIV and coinfections, TB, malaria, women and children's health, global health emergencies).
- Experience engaging with on Boards of public health or international development organizations.
- Experience working in an international cross-cultural environment.
- Experience working in private sector in the health sector.
- Experience in complex grant management Familiarity with Global Health work.

- A successful track record of working with complex and sensitive issues and interacting with high level government officials, Corporate Executive Directors and intergovernmental bodies; and global health donors.
- Experience in analyzing complex high-, middle- and low- income country contexts and navigating a successful path to ensure efficient delivery of objectives.
