What you can expect:
As a Project Assistant, you will support the development and implementation of sustainable land management projects, contributing to Preferred by Nature’s mission. Your role will involve assisting with project documentation, stakeholder coordination, and logistics, with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility.
Working with us is never routine so the first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.
• Support project teams by compiling documents, maintaining records, and coordinating logistics for meetings and field visits.
• Contribute to drafting and reviewing project content, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and represent Preferred by Nature in external communications as you grow in the role.
Your first year with us
Within three months, you will:
• Complete comprehensive onboarding, including training on project tools, workflows, and Preferred by Nature’s mission.
• Assist in compiling project documents and support logistics for stakeholder meetings.
• Participate in internal training and shadow experienced team members.
Within six months, you will:
• Draft content for selected project sections and coordinate logistics for workshops and assessments with limited supervision.
• Support progress tracking and stakeholder communication independently.
• Contribute to technical and administrative aspects of projects.
Within one year, you will:
• Lead specific project tasks and deliverables with increased autonomy.
• Represent Preferred by Nature in external meetings and mentor new assistants or interns if applicable.
• Provide input to improve project tools, processes, or reporting formats.
Important that you:
• Hold a degree in environmental studies, project management, or a related field OR a high school diploma + 1-year relevant experience.
• Have good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Are comfortable with nationwide travel as part of your job.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Are proficient in digital tools (word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations).
Would also be great, but not necessary, if you:
• Have experience in project coordination or stakeholder engagement.
• Are familiar with sustainable land management or environmental projects.
