Position description

Under the overall supervision of the Chief, Donor Relations Division (DRD), and the direct supervision of the Donor Relations Officer and in close coordination with staff members in that Division, as well as the Department of Operations and Emergencies (DOE), and the Information and Communications Technology Division (ICT), the incumbent will be responsible for the provision of assistance and support for the Global Crisis Response Platform (GCRP) (http://crisisresponse.iom.int/) and for the publication of the 2021 Global Crisis Response Plans by the end of December 2020.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1. Supporting DRD’s management of the Platform for the launch of the 2021 CRP cycle, including:

• Activate CRPs in Drupal system and issue credentials
• Support the publication of financial information and monitoring of the dashboard• Support in updating plan codes in IOM’s financial management system
• Prepare GCRP launch and related communications and updates for DRD
• Contribute to the implementation of the GCRP Phase 3 workplan

2. Technical support to users. This includes:

• Manage GCRP mailbox and providing helpdesk support to IOM Country Offices and Reviewers to address technical issues in accessing or using the Platform, in coordination with ICT
• Provide general support for CRP development in coordination with DRD and DOE

• Ensure a smooth and timely workflow, providing support and following up with field and headquarter colleagues who have been assigned tasks as required.

3. Finalization of CRPs and publication, including:

• Editorial review for grammar, spelling, style, checking internal and external links and overall coherence
• Layout review, including pictures, captions, etc
• Publication of CRPs on the GCRP

• Monitor the correct functioning and visualization of the platform

Tangible and Measurable Outputs of the Work Assignment

• Activate CRPs in Drupal system and issue credentials to mission, RO and HQ users.
• Manage GCRP mailbox and provide helpdesk support to IOM Country Offices and Reviewers to address technical issues in accessing or using the Platform, in coordination with ICT.
• Ensure a smooth and timely workflow, providing support and following up with field and headquarter colleagues who have been assigned tasks as required.
• Editorial review for CRPs for grammar, spelling, style, checking internal and external links and overall coherence.
• Publication of CRPs on the GCRP website.

Realistic Delivery Dates and Details as to how the work must be delivered

• Activate CRPs in Drupal system and issue credentials – by 9 October 2020
• Manage GCRP mailbox and provide helpdesk support to IOM Country Offices and Reviewers to address technical issues in accessing or using the Platform, in coordination with ICT – 9 October to 31 December
• Ensure a smooth and timely workflow, providing support and following up with field and headquarter colleagues who have been assigned tasks as required - 9 October to 4 December
• Contribute to the implementation of the GCRP Phase 3 workplan - by 31 December
• Editorial review of CRPs for grammar, spelling, style, checking internal and external links and overall coherence - 26 October to 4 December
• Prepare GCRP launch and related communications and publish CRPs on the GCRP website –14 December

Performance indicators for evaluation of results

• CRPs activated and credential issued in a timely manner as outlined above.
• GCRP mailbox emails are acknowledged within 24 hours and support is provided, in coordination with relevant colleagues, in a timely manner.
• Timely reminders and individual follow-up email/calls are sent to field and headquarter colleagues to ensure timely completion of their tasks.
• Quality review of CRPs grammar, spelling, style, checking internal and external links and overall coherence.
• GCRP, related CRPs and related donor communications are ready to be launched by 14 December.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education

• Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Journalism, English Literature, and/or International Relations or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
• University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

• Excellent writing and reviewing skills in English;
• Knowledge of the crisis response sector, knowledge of IOM is an advantage;
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently;
• Familiarity with web content creation and update, knowledge of Drupal an advantage;
• Experience working with international humanitarian/development organizations, non-governmental institutions/organizations.

Languages

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of French

and/or Spanish is an advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Notes

If necessary, the successful candidate may be required to travel to the Geneva Headquarters.

The consultant must adhere to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Data Protection Principles (IN/138) and maintain confidentiality.

The consultant will be responsible to follow IOM writing guidelines and latest glossaries in all given assignments for accurate translation.
