Our Risk Assessment team seeks to identify, mitigate, and prevent risks to our community and platform. We conduct proactive and post-mortem investigations, which stress test and probe our internal systems in order to understand the root cause of each issue, and deliver action-oriented assessments with the end state of keeping our community safe. Through this work, we hope to build trust in communities and empower Facebook to fulfill its mission by inspiring a culture of accountability and driving holistic solutions. We are seeking a seasoned manager to build and lead a global functional team from the ground up — we're targeting a resilient self-starter who thrives in ambiguous and fast-paced environments and is able to utilize strong strategic and critical thinking skills to define solutions to new problems. A successful candidate should be a leader with deep domain expertise in operations, strategy, thought leadership, and talent development who will be able to oversee execution and collaboration across a large set of cross-functional partners. You crave opportunities to build out new spaces from 0>1 while also reinvigorating and re-examining established processes, enabling you to see the big picture and what needs to be done, but also why it is important and how it all fits together. We're looking for an intellectually curious and creative individual — a structured multi-tasker and master at prioritization, all with the goal of bringing different groups together to solve our toughest problems. You are an inspiring leader and know when and how to support your team and bring out the best in them, particularly through ambiguity and change. This individual will assume global leadership responsibilities in developing a team of individual contributors and lay the foundation for future growth and expansion in order to execute on ambitious operational and strategic goals. This leader will drive cross-functional partnerships with product, engineering, policy, and operations to improve all facets of our business in order to build trust and legitimacy with our users. Candidates will have strong analytical judgment and a passion for improving the experience of our global community.   • Provide strong and visionary leadership to your team, while enhancing and developing a strong team culture of trust and a commitment to impact in how we support our community
  • Partner closely with Risk and Response leadership team to help shape the future direction and strategy for developing a holistic risk picture in order to build trust and legitimacy with our users
  • Use your influencing skills to drive improvements with cross-functional stakeholders to policies, processes, systems, and products that mitigate risk to community
  • Drive accountability by ensuring high quality operational performance, including insights and data curation, in order to establish and grow feedback channels with key partners
  • Identify and anticipate trends and develop solutions to drive efficiencies through an understanding of systemic gaps and risks
  • Build and retain a world class team through providing mentorship, guidance and career development


Minimum Qualification

  • 12+ years of experience in an operations, journalism, legal, policy, think tanks, or management consulting
  • 4+ years of experience leading and growing teams from strategy through to operational execution
  • Experience working as part of a global, cross-functional team and working with all levels through collaboration and relationship building, particularly across large matrixed organizations
  • Experience setting goals for a team and executing on vision
  • Communication skills and executive presence
  • Proven track record of attracting, scaling and developing teams
  • Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving experience

Preferred Qualification

  • Advanced degree in international relations, philosophy, business, policy, journalism, legal, etc.
  • Experience working in strategy and development at a Big 4 firm, the government sector, or think tanks
  • Experience with a fast-paced, always-on, frequently ambiguous environment
