The role also involves liaising and managing the regional offices, determining global standards for the offices, including the developing and overseeing the smooth running of the procedures between head office and the regions.

We are looking to hire a highly motivated individual who enjoys hard work and demonstrates strong initiative. You will have strong management experience, be an excellent communicator, and you’ll understand how to effectively communicate with – as well as sell and market to - various global demographics. You enjoy working independently, as well as contributing collaboratively. You’re a team player who is driven, creative, and passionate about the use of IEP’s research to help create a better world.

About the Institute for Economics & Peace

The Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) is a global think tank, established in 2010 and headquartered in Sydney Australia. It has offices in Sydney, New York, Brussels, Mexico City and Harare. The Institute is dedicated to understanding the intersection between business, peace and economics, and in its area of specialisation it is considered one of the leading think tanks in the world.

IEP has strategic partnerships with many of the leading global organisations in its field of operations. Its strategic partners include the UN, OECD, Commonwealth Secretariat, World Trade Organisation, UN Office on Countering Terrorism, World Vision, Rotary International, International Parliamentary Union and many governments.

IEP’s influence is growing rapidly, with organisational influence nearly doubling in the last year based on several metrics, including media reach, new strategic partners, and consulting revenue. IEP has a secure funding base, strong reserves and a thriving consulting business. Other revenue streams include donations, training, data product sales and workshops.

IEP has an extensive media reach, with articles regularly mentioning either the Institute or references to its products. Its media impressions in the financial year to 30th June 2022 was 26 billion, with news and media references in over 120 countries. It is on track to achieve more than 40 billion impressions this year.

IEP publishes several yearly research reports which have global press campaigns. These reports are the Global Peace Index, Global Terrorism Index and the Ecological Threat report. The Institute also produces several other strategic reports including Cost of Violence to the Global Economy, Business and Peace and the Positive Peace report. The later report sets out the attributes that create peaceful societies. This body of work has been adopted by many global organisations, with hundreds of workshops conducted annually based on the work.

The Institute operates in research, consulting, partnerships, communications, finance and outreach. Outreach is the regional offices and the functions they perform which include giving presentations, arranging and managing strategic relationships, seeking and obtaining consultancy projects for research and training. These functions currently report to the Executive Chairman who founded the Institute, he will be gradually stepping back from the operational components.

The organisation also has other activities, including:

  • Training of IEP ambassadors – over 5,000 trained with an annual intake of 1,000.
  • Over 600 presentations in the last financial year – audience sizes from 25 to 15,000 people.
  • Online training courses – revenue generating.
  • Face to face workshops – ‘Train the trainer’.
  • Specialised training for specific geographies and demographics including Ethiopia, Nigeria, medical staff, and Rotarians.
