Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking an Associate Import Export Administrator to join our team of qualified and diverse team.  This position is located in Dulles, VA.


In this role, the selected candidate’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Plans, schedules and routes imports and exports, including monitoring the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, ensuring related customer service, brokerage and customs transaction compliance.   

  • Process and manage import and export transactions including document preparation and transportation logistics arrangements.  

  • Maintains compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products.   

  • Researches and resolves customer or supplier issues.  

  • Interfaces with internal and external worldwide import/export operations and organizations.   

  • Negotiates with foreign customers to develop handling agreements.  

  • Acts as liaison with freight forwarder and customs broker representatives to resolve problems.  

  • Maintains departmental administrative and regulatory compliance procedures.  

  • Maintain files and records and develops reports/metrics as required by company procedures and government regulations.  

  • Ensures accuracy of data, conduct reviews and audits of import/export records. 


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 0 years of experience; AA degree with 2 years of import/export experience; or 4 years of import/export experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements under 19CFR Customs Duties, 15CFR Commerce and Foreign Trade, and familiarity with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE). Experience and Knowledge of ACE, ABI, AES.
  • Proficient in the use of the OCR EEMS import and/or export modules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Freight Forwarder or customs broker industry experience; prefer candidate be proficient in both Import/ Export compliance and logistics processes.
  • Aerospace or Defense industry international transportation experience
