The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, aunique global network of policy research centers,is searching for a dynamic Africa policy expertto lead its DC-based Africa program.
Working ina collaborativefashion with Carnegie's other regional and functional programs, the Africa Programprovidespenetratinganalysison Africa's evolving politicaland economicrealitiesand interactions with key globalactorsand trendlines. The Program aimstogeneratefresh thinking and new policy approachesrelating to technology,economics,geopolitics,governance,energy,and other issues vital to Africa's future.Like other Carnegie regional programs, the Africa Programaims tocombine a strong grounding inlocalperspectives with wide reach among global policy makers.
Preferred candidateswill combine top-notchanalytic, writing,convening,and communication skills,witha track recordofshaping and leading arobustresearch agenda.They should also haveproven managerialsavvy,entrepreneurship, and fundraising skills.Senior-level experience, credibility, and reach in the U.S. policy community as well as with keyofficial,scholarly, and businessactorsin Africahighly desirable.PhDor equivalentpreferred.
Located in Dupont Circle,Washington, DC with travel,we offer an outstanding benefits packageincluding health insurance benefits. This is not aremoteposition. Carnegie employees are required to work in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and can work from home Mondays and Fridays.
