PNO Innovation is a professional pan-European consulting organization in the field of innovation and grants, with a strong focus on enabling and exploiting European innovation networks on the crossroads of academia, industry and public organisations. PNO Innovation offers advice and actively engage in innovation processes enabled by national and European public funding, targeting multiple sectors, from ICT, electronics, aeronautics and transport, to energy, environment, chemistry, biotech and health. PNO Innovation uses its European wide network of experienced consultants, their large clients’ portfolio and proprietary Open Innovation instruments (i.e. www.innovationplace.eu), to deliver high quality consultancy with a hands-on mentality.

In order to highlight the European projects and to coordinate the way in which they are presented, PNO Innovation Belgium is looking for a passionate Communication Consultant:

Function

As a communication consultant you are responsible for the coordination, implementation and reporting of communication activities within various research and innovation initiatives with relevance to the EU agenda. More concretely, your role will consist of the following activities:

• Providing support in the administrative processing of the grant application and offering support to the consultants in the project execution (e.g. market analysis, workshop organization and other);
• The preparation of editorial content (website content, newsletters, press releases, articles, event reviews, social media content, scripts for promotional videos) and presentations for both offline and online communication channels;
• Monitoring and reporting: The outcome of the communication and dissemination activities engaged to create visibility for projects will be reported to the project consortium and the European Commission;
• Interacting with internal and external suppliers such as website developers, publishing houses and video production companies;
• Identification of potential stakeholders through targeted outreach, including emails, participation in relevant conferences, supported by the organisation of dedicated exploitation workshops.

Staying informed not only about the latest communication trends, but also about the most important developments/policy updates within the circular economy, energy and environmental sectors and ensuring the various project partners receive regular updates on those developments.

Qualifications

• University degree in communication sciences, journalism, marketing, economics, management or political sciences;
• 3-5 years experience in and/or affinity with the preparation of communication materials for EU funded projects or international markets, stakeholder engagement, event organisation and their process management;
• Excellent English oral and written skills; knowledge of Dutch/Flemish is a strong plus!
• Pro-active, dynamic, self-driven, and multi-tasking capabilities Experience with (research) projects, consultancy, drawing up communication and/or market reports is a plus;
• Experience with European Framework Programmes is an extra plus;
• A demonstrated business acumen in combination with a flexible, hands-on and creative personality.

You will work from Zaventem office 2 days per week and rest remotely from home and are available to occasionally travel within Europe for a short time.
