Assistant Professor of Political Science

Arkansas State University

Position description

The Department of Government, Law & Policy at Arkansas State University, a Carnegie-classified R2 research university, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor, beginning in Fall 2027.

The search is open with respect to subfield and substantive focus within political science. We seek a colleague with an active, publishable research agenda who will contribute to the department's growing research profile and its graduate programs (an MA in Political Science and a NASPAA-accredited MPA). Because our curricular needs span the discipline, we are especially interested in candidates prepared to teach across more than one area, including political institutions, state and local government, international relations, and research methods. The teaching load is consistent with the department's research expectations.
