Religions for Peaceis seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to serve as Program Officer (PO), contributing to the implementation and coordination of projects acrossReligions for Peace’sfive strategic priorities (Building Just, Peaceful, and Inclusive Societies; Advancing Gender Equality; Nurturing a Sustainable Environment; Championing Freedom of Thought, Conscience, and Religion; Strengthening Interreligious Education; Fostering Multi-Religious Collaboration and Global Partnerships).
Position Overview
The Program Officer will support the design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of a diverse portfolio of programs. The role will involve close coordination with implementing partners and funders, management of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes, grant reporting, and logistical and administrative support.
The PO will also contribute to institutional initiatives related to the upcomingReligions for PeaceWorld Assembly, including impact harvesting, documentation of program successes, and coordination across thematic and regional teams.
This role will report to the Director of Programs/Deputy Secretary General, and work closely with colleagues across programs, communications, and resource mobilization.
Responsibilities
These include but are not limited to the following:
- Under the direction of the Director of Program, support the implementation and coordination of specific projects under theReligions for Peace’sfive strategic priorities;
- Provide coordination, communication, and compliance with programmatic and donor requirements;
- Manage monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) processes for assigned projects, including collecting quantitative and qualitative data, and supporting analysis and reporting;
- Prepare high-quality narrative donor reports in collaboration with program, finance, and communications colleagues;
- Provide logistical and administrative support related to project implementation, including organizing in-person and online high-level and grassroots events, workshops, and meetings;
- Support grant management processes, including proposal development, workplan development, and budget tracking;
- Contribute to research, documentation, and knowledge products that capture program impact and lessons learned;
- Support preparations for theReligions for Peace11th World Assembly, including impact harvesting of program successes across the global movement, coordination with networks and regional bodies, and synthesis of programmatic achievements;
- Collaborate closely with the Communications and Resource Mobilisation teams to support storytelling, case studies, and fundraising efforts;
- Perform other duties as assigned in support ofReligions for Peace’smission and strategic objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field such as international relations, peace and conflict studies, theology, or a related discipline;
- Four to five years of relevant programmatic experience, ideally with an international nonprofit organization, faith-based organization, or similar institution;
- Demonstrated experience supporting program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and donor reporting, preferably including large donors such as governments and multi-lateral institutions;
- Expertise or experience in one or more ofReligions for Peace’sstrategic priorities;
- Strong ability to work across cultures and with diverse, multi-religious, and multi-stakeholder partners
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail;
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to draft clear and compelling reports and correspondence;
- Highly collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM systems;
- English fluency is required. Language skills or fluency in Spanish, French or Arabic is a plus.
Salary Range
65,000 – 75,000 USD (depending on qualification and experience) + generous benefits.
